KENTUCKY BOXING AND WRESTLING COMMISSION

The Kentucky Boxing and Wrestling Commission (KBWC) encourages the growth of unarmed combat sports, protects participants and spectators and strives to improve the sports by thoughtful, reasonable and fair regulation and monitoring.  The KBWC licenses unarmed combat sports athletes, trainers, corners, promoters, referees and judges, and oversees all professional boxing, professional wrestling and both amateur and professional mixed martial arts events held in the Commonwealth.

BOXING, MMA REFEREE AND JUDGES TRAINING

The Kentucky Boxing and Wrestling Commission is hosting two training sessions for boxing and mixed martial arts official referees and judges on March 11, 2023, at the Muhammad Ali Center in Louisville.

Session one begins at 8:30 a.m. and focuses on boxing referees and MMA judges. Session two begins at 12:30 p.m. and focuses on boxing judges and MMA referees. One course cost $150 and both courses cost $200.

The training will be conducted by the Association of Boxing Commissions and Combative Sports. Training subjects include qualifications, ethics, appearance, pre-flight duties, licensing, and other pertinent topics.
